Dae Sun wins chemical tanker order

South Korean shipyard Dae Sun Shipbuilding & Engineering has won an order from compatriot oil firm GS Caltex to build one 6,500 dwt chemical tanker. The ship will work domestically for GS Caltex’s shipowning subsidiary, Sangli Shipping.

While many yards in South Korea have struggled for orders in the past 18 months Dae Sun’s focus on small chemical and product tankers has given it a steady trickle of orders to keep its drydocks busy through to early 2019.
