D’Amico sells MR tanker to Akar Shipping

Several market sources are reporting that d’Amico International Shipping is selling one of its tanker ships to a Turkish shipping company. The Italian firm could not comment about the deal but it seems that the MR, named Cielo di Roma, is to be sold for $13.8m to Istanbul-based Akar Shipping.

Last December d’Amico International Shipping also sold the handysize tanker, Cielo di Salerno, to Sea World Management.

Akar Group was launched in 1968 and today is active in ownership, shipmanagement and chartering services dealing with the acquisition and sales of vessels. At present the company’s fleet is made up of four bulk carriers, three tankers and three container ships.
