Dammam delays increase

Doha: Vessels leave King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam without loading a part of their goods because of the long period of inspection at the port difficulties involved in completing customs procedures.

More larger ships calling combined with the traditional cargo build up ahead of Ramadan have exacerbated the problem local sources said.

Customs is in the process of taking a slice of the port as a dedicated area for clearance to try and get over the delays.  [26/05/13]
