Demo volumes bounce back

Ageing fleets and renewal pressures are likely to see many more rusty ships take their final voyages this year

Ships sent for demolition are rising, and are tipped to increase further throughout 2023 and 2024, but the cash-rich position of shipowners is expected to keep scrapping rates significantly below record volumes experienced in the wake of the global financial crisis.
