Det Norske, Subsea 7 and Aker Solutions form subsea alliance

Det Norske, Subsea 7 and Aker Solutions have formed an alliance combining Det Norske’s exploration and production expertise with Subsea 7’s capabilities in the engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of subsea umbilicals, risers and  flowlines and Aker Solutions’ expertise in front end engineering, brownfield modifications and subsea systems.

The alliance will enable an integrated team to find the most cost-effective solutions for developing Det Norske’s entire Norwegian subsea field portfolio.

“This is an innovative way of collaborating with an operator and another supplier, working together as one integrated team across developments will promote greater sharing of knowledge and best practices,” said Jean Cahuzac, chief executive officer of Subsea 7.

The alliance follows Det Norske’s announcement in June of a four-year framework agreement with Subsea 7 and Aker Solutions for oil and gas projects in Norway. The potential value of the framework agreement is around NOK2.8bn ($340m).
