Diamond Offshore gets long-term work for drillship pair from Woodside

Houston-headquartered offshore driller Diamond Offshore has been awarded a pair of contracts by Woodside for drillships Ocean BlackRhino and Ocean BlackHawk.

The drillships will be operating in Senegal, Ocean BlackRhino from the fourth quarter of 2020 for three years and Ocean BlackHawk from the first quarter of 2022 for a period of one year.

Marc Edwards, president and CEO of Diamond Offshore, commented: “We are pleased to announce that we secured over four years of additional work across two of our drillships, the Ocean BlackRhino and Ocean BlackHawk, with Woodside in Senegal. These new contracts are a testament to our differentiated strategy of focusing on innovation to drive efficiency in offshore drilling.”
