Diana fixes panamax bulker to Transgrain

Diana Shipping has fixed one of its panamax bulk carriers on an eight- to 11-month timecharter to Transgrain Shipping (Rotterdam).

The Alcyon (75,247 dwt, built 2001) was fixed at $7,600 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, and commenced its charter on August 22.

“This employment is anticipated to generate approximately $1.82m of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter,” the NYSE-listed company said today.

The new contract has been fixed at a slightly lower rate than the $7,750 per day (minus 5%) the vessel was earning on its previous timecharter to EDF Trading, which commenced on December 21, 2012 and terminated on August 6 this year.
