Diana grabs bargain resale

Athens: Greece’s Diana Shipping has bought a newly-built post-panamax dry bulk carrier of 98,704 dwt, built by Tsuneishi Group (Zhoushan) Shipbuilding in China, from a third party seller for a purchase price of $24.6m. The vessel, to be named “Polymnia”, is expected to be delivered from the yard to the company by the sellers by the end of November 2012.
“Under $25m for a resale of a ship of nearly 100,000 dwt is a very, very competitive price,” one Hong Kong broker told SinoShip News.  [11/10/12]
