Diana Shipping and OceanPal charter out bulkers

Hot on the heels of its ultramax fixture with IMC Shipping, Greek bulker owner Diana Shipping and its spinoff OceanPal have both announced new charter agreements.

The Semiramis Paliou-led Diana with a fleet of 42 bulkers has fixed its 2013-built post-panamax Electra to Cobelfret until June 2024 at $14,500 per day or around $5.93m. The charter of the 87,150 dwt ship should start on April 13 and can be extended until August 1, 2024.

Electra has been on charter with Refined Success Limited since last July at a daily rate of $17,500.

Meanwhile, a five-vessel-strong OceanPal has sealed a time charter deal with Louis Dreyfus for its panamax Melia. The 2005-built bulker has already commenced its 120-day charter at $14,000 per day, with options to extend for an additional 60 days. The deal should bring in nearly $1.7m for the minimum scheduled period of the charter.
