Diana Shipping fixes capesize to Cargill

Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping has entered into a 8-10 month time charter contract with Cargill International for 2005-built capesize vessels Salt Lake City.

The charter commences May 1 at a rate of $16,250 per day, much higher than the $9,000 per day rate paid by the previous charter Uniper. Last week, Uniper took panamax bulker Atalandi on charter from Diana at $13,500 per day.

Diana Shipping says the charter will generate around $3.9m based on the minimum time charter period.
