Diana Shipping fixes capesize to Berge Bulk

Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping has entered into a time charter contract with Singapore’s Berge Bulk for 2006-built capesize vessel Sideris GS.

The charter commenced last week, and will run through to between December 15, 2019 and March 30, 2020. The gross charter rate is $8,500 per day for the first thirty days and $15,350 per day thereafter. The vessel was previously on charter to Rio Tinto Shipping at $13,000 per day.

Diana says the contract will generate around $6.24m revenue based on the minimum time charter period.

Berge Bulk is on the verge of adding four capesizes to its owned fleet, with subjects lifted on a $98m deal with China’s ICBC.
