Diana Shipping fixes panamax to Uniper at strong rate

Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping has entered into a 14-17 month time charter contract with Uniper Global Commodities for 2014-built panamax bulker Atalandi.

The charter commenced last week at a rate of $13,500 per day, substantially higher than the $5,300 per day paid by the previous charterer Glencore Grain.

Diana Shipping says the charter will generate around $5.67m based on the minimum time charter period.

Last week, Diana fixed 2007-built panamax Arethusa to Glencore Agriculture for $12,600 per day and earlier in the month fixed 2005-built panamax Melia for $12,000 per day.
