Diana Shipping fixes panamax to United Bulk Carriers

Greek owner Diana Shipping has entered into a time charter contract with United Bulk Carriers International for 2005-built panamax vessel Melia.

The charter commences April 20 for a period of 17-20 months at a rate of $12,000 per day. The vessel’s previous charter, with Nidera, was at $9,500 per day.

Diana Shipping says the charter will generate around $6.12m of revenue based on the minimum time charter period.
