Diana Shipping fixes post-panamax to Cargill at improved rate

Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping has entered into a new time charter contract with Cargill International for five-year-old post-panamax vessel Amphitrite.

The new charter is for a period of 13-16 months commencing late September and is at a rate of $11,150 per day. Amphitrite has been chartered to Bunge since it was delivered by Tsueishi in 2012, and was last contracted at a charter rate of $7,700 per day.

The new contract is expected to generate around $4.35m based on the minimum time charter period.
