Diana Shipping panamax scores new charter with Phaethon

Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping has entered into a new time charter contract with Phaethon International Company for 2001-built panamax Danae.

The charter commenced yesterday and is for 11-14 months at a rate of $8,100 per day. Phaethon currently has three Diana panamaxes on charter, and was previously paying $10,000 per day for the Danae.

Diana Shipping says the new charter will generate around $2.67m of revenue based on the minimum time charter period.
