Diana Shipping post-panamax charter cancelled by Al Ghurair

Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping says that Dubai’s Al Ghurair Resources International has cancelled a time charter contract for 2012-built post-panamax bulker Polymnia.

The $14,500 per day one-year charter, announced last month, was scheduled to commence on October 23 but Al Ghurair exercised the right to cancel the charter after the vessel was not delivered during the pre-agreed period “due to unforeseen events”.

Diana says that Polymnia is still on charter to Cargill at $16,000 per day, and that it is currently seeking a replacement charter for the vessel.
