Diana Shipping seals new panamax charters with Hudson Shipping Lines

Greek owner Diana Shipping has sealed deals for the charter of a pair of panamax bulkers to Hudson Shipping Lines.

Hudson is extending the time charter of 2004-built panamax Protefs for a period of 12-15 months. Commencing September 19, the extension is at a gross rate of $11,000 per day which is significantly higher then the $7,900 per day previously paid by the company.

Diana Shipping has also signed a new charter deal with Hudson for 2001-built panamax Nirefs for a period of 11-14 months. Commencing August 11, the charter is at gross rate of $10,750 per day. The vessel was previously on charter to Singapore’s Jaldhi Overseas for $9,400 per day.

The two chartered are expected to generate around $7.34m based on the minimum time charter periods.
