Diana Shipping seals new SwissMarine charters for newcastlemax pair

Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping has signed new time charter contracts with SwissMarine Services for newcastlemax dry bulk vessels Newport News and Los Angeles.

SwissMarine is paying $16,500 per day for 2017-built Newport News for a period of 16 to 19 months. The charter commenced yesterday in direct continuation with its previous charter, also with SwissMarine.

Diana Shipping has also re-fixed 2012-built newcastlemax Los Angeles to SwissMarine, for 15 to 18 months at a rate of $13,250 per day. The charter is expected to commence on March 3, and the rate is significantly lower than the $19,150 per day previously paid by SwissMarine for the vessel.

The two charters will generate around $13.88m of gross revenue based on the minimum time charter period.
