Diana Shipping seals two more charters

Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping has announced a two new time charter contracts for for its vessels.

Geneva-based SwissMarine Services has taken 2012-built newcastlemax Los Angeles on time charter for a period of thirteen to fifteen months. SwissMarine is paying a charter rate of 14% above the BCI_2014 average of the five pre-determined time charter routes as published by the Baltic Exchange. The contract commenced on January 22.

Additionally, BG Shipping in Hong Kong has contracted panamax Selina on time charter for a period of nine to twelve months at a rate of $4,500 per day for the first 30 days of the period and $7,100 per day for the balance. The 2010-built vessels is expected to go on charter on January 24, and generate around $$1.84 million based on the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.

Last week, the company fixed capesizes Santa Barbara and Salt Lake City in two separate time charter deals.
