Diana Shipping signs new charter deal with Ausca for panamax

Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping has entered into a time charter contract with Ausca Shipping in Hong Kong for 2006-built panamax Artemis.

The new charter commences today for a period of 12-15 months at a rate of $12,600 per day. The new rate is a substantial increase on the $9,000 per day previously paid by Ausca, and $1,300 a day more than a charter deal Diana sealed for another 2006-built panamax last month, the Coronis.

Diana says the deal will generate around $4.54m of gross revenue based on the minimum time charter period.
