Diana Shipping wins new Koch charter and extension with Cargill

Diana Shipping has sealed a time charter contract with Singapore-based Koch Shipping for 2013-built capesize vessel P. S. Palios.

The charter is for a period of 12-16 months at a rate of $10,550 per day and is expected to commence on January 21.

Last month Diana signed two new charter deals with Koch Shipping. 2015-built capesize New Orleans went on a time charter contract for 12 months at $11,250 per day while newbuild newcastlemax San Francisco was signed to a 12-16 month charter at $11,750 per day.

Additionally, Cargill has extended a time charter contact for 2013-built kamsarmax Myrto for a period of 12-15 months. The charter rate is $8,000 per day less commission and the charter is expected to commence on January 16.

Diana says the two contract are expected to generate around $6.68m of gross revenue based on the minimum time charter period.
