Diana taps Danish Ship Finance for $30m

Athens: Diana Shipping has completed a drawdown of $30m under a term loan facility it signed with Danish Ship Finance. The proceeds will be used to partially finance the acquisition cost of a capesize, Santa Barbara, which was delivered Diana this January.

Diana’s fleet continues to expand. It currently numbers 40 afloat with a kamsarmax delivering this quarter and a capesize in August, plus three more bulkers in the second quarter of 2016.

Earlier this week Diana paid $18.05m for a 2010-built kamsarmax and $43m for a newbuild capesize due for delivery from Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding this August.
