DNV GL brand unveiled at Marintec China

Shanghai: Making its debut as a new mega class brand at this year’s Marintec China is DNV GL. The European merger of Norway’s Det Norske Veritas and Germany’s Germanischer Lloyd has created one of the world’s largest classification societies with the new brand set to be officially unveiled on December 16. However, getting an early view of what the new entity looks like are the hordes of visitors to this year’s Marintec China where DNV GL has two prominent stands. “The new brand identifies us as one company,” said a senior spokesman for the company. The new brand incorporates the colours of the two class societies while ditching their emblems in favour of three lines.  DNV GL has 16,000 staff worldwide including 750 maritime staff in Greater China. DNV GL has more than 500 vessels on its orderbook in China.   [04/12/13]
