DOF sells subsea vessel

DOF Subsea has agreed to sell its subsea support vessel Skandi Santos to a new joint venture being formed by Akastor’s AKOFS Offshore and Mitsui.

The sale of the vessel, which has been on charter to AKOFS since 2009, will release about NOK350m ($42.2m) for DOF Subsea after coverage of all costs and repayment of debt.

“The vessel has been a great success for all involved since its delivery. The companies in the DOF ASA and DOF Subsea AS Group are much looking forward to continuing the excellent cooperation with AKASTOR and its affiliates in this successful venture, the values of which we fully share,” said Mons S. Aase, CEO of DOF Subsea.

The agreement to sell the vessel to the joint venture is subject to the consent of Petrobras and certain other approvals and conditions, the clearance of which is expected during the fourth quarter 2016.
