Dolphin Drilling semi-sub awarded new drilling contract by Shell in Norway

Dolphin Drilling has been awarded a contract by Norske Shell for semi-submersible rig Borgland Dolphin to drill at the Knarr field on the Norwegian continental shelf.

The contract is for the drilling of one well, and includes two further one-well options.

The contract will commence from February to May 2020, and is worth around $15m including mobilisation costs.

The rig is currently contracted to i3 Energy in the UK sector of the North Sea.

Grant Rowles

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List. In 2009 Grant joined Seatrade responsible for the commercial development of Seatrade’s Asia products. In 2012, with Sam Chambers, he co-founded Asia Shipping Media.
