Dolphin Drilling semi-submersible contract terminated by Total

Norway’s Fred. Olsen Energy has announced that Total E&P UK has terminated the contract for Dolphin Drilling semi-submersible rig Borgsten Dolphin.

The termination agreement is effective October 1, and will see Total pay an early termination fee of $22.1m.

The rig is now mobilising inshore and is expected to be cold stacked.
