DP World eyes Bangladesh investments

Dubai: Dubai terminal operator DP World is pitching for a new big port project in Bangladesh.

DP World has made clear its keenness to build a facility in the Bay of Bengal for some time and the operator is now presenting the concept to local authorities. The idea is to make the port city of Sonadia into a regional hub.

DP World is also interested in expanding Chittagong port which currently accounts for some 90% of container exports from Bangladesh, a fast growing manufacturer of garments.  [13/03/14]
