DP World takes over operation of Saint John terminal

Dubai-based DP World, fourth largest container firm in the world, has taken over operating Saint John terminal in New Brunswick, Canada.

Six months ago, DP World signed a 30-year lease with Port Saint John.

It is a multi-purpose container, bulk and breakbulk terminal with year-round ice-free access.

The DP World Saint John terminal is due to expand and upgrade under a $156m infrastructure modernization that was already scheduled and should be complete by 2021.

The maritime province of New Brunswick is well located to service markets in New England, eastern Canada and the US Midwest.
