Drive traffic to ports outside the capital, study urges

Manila: In a bid to improve the capital’s congested transport infrastructure, a study funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is proposing that the two major international ports in Manila defer expansion for the next six years to force the use of Subic and Batangas ports.

Subic and Batangas should reduce their fees and charges to encourage more shippers to use them, the study also recommended.   [20/12/12]
