DryShips offloads ageing panamax pair

George Economou’s DryShips has trimmed its fleet by two, selling a pair of 2002-built panamax bulkers for a total of $18.8m.

The two vessels, which match the description of the Bargara and Mendocino, were sold to an unaffiliated buyer with delivery scheduled for the third quarter of 2018.

DryShips will be left with nine panamax bulkers after the sale is completed, all of which are trading in the spot market.
