George Economou’s DryShips has fixed one of its newcasltemax bulkers on a one-year time charter with a major coal and steel trader.
DryShips says the contract will commence upon delivery of the vessel, expected in July 2017, at a gross rate linked to the Baltic Capesize Index (5 T/C route) plus 20%.
The latest charter means all four newcastlemaxes acquired by DryShips in March have been fixed. DryShips paid a total of $124m for the four Chinese 206,000 dwt bulkers.
