Dship Carriers orders MPP pair at Taizhou Sanfu, eyes further expansion

Thomas Press owned MPP specialist dship Carriers has ordered a pair of F-500 newbuild multipurpose vessels from China’s Shipbuilding.

Delivery of the first vessel is scheduled for November 2018, while the second is due to deliver in the first quarter of 2019.

The F-500 has been designed to reduce fuel consumption and increase stowage flexibility, with a a combined lifting capacity of 500 metric tons.

Lars Feller, global vice president of dship Carriers, commented: “We look forward to further improving our services with these environmental-friendly vessels. Our client’s will benefit in two ways: with more technical possibilities for a wider range of project cargo and with competitive rates due to an economic fleet.”

dship Carriers plans to further expand its fleet and is looking at opportunities in both the newbuild and secondhand tonnage markets.

Grant Rowles

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List.
