Beijing: China is one step closer to its VLCC pool strategy. COSCO Group and China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) have signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing to construct more VLCCs.
Under the agreement, COSCO has placed a 2+2 VLCCs order at Dalian Shipbuilding Industry (DSIC), and the two companies will also deepen their cooperation in shipbuilding technology, logistics, and transportation.
The VLCC newbuilds will adopt new eco design which will greatly save energy consumption and improve ship efficiency. [06/12/12]
