DSIC to build jack-up pair

Dalian: China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC)'s wholly-owned subsidiary China Petroleum Technology & Development Corporation (CPTDC) and China Shipbuilding Industry Corp (CISC)-affiliated Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co (DSIC) signed a contract for the construction of a pair of jack-up drilling platforms, DSJ300 No.3 and DSJ300 No.4, on July 3.

Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Offshore Co (DSIC Offshore) will build the proprietary design jack-up rigs.

In December 2009, CNPC and CSIC signed a strategic cooperative agreement and established strategic relationship in offshore facility segment.

In November 2011, CNPC succeeded to operate its first DSJ300 platform, which is China's self-developed and intellectual property rights protected 300-feet jack-up platform.

Also, the second DSJ300 has recently been completed and is to be delivered later this year.  [04/07/12]
