DSME close to sealing Iranian jack-ups

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) has revealed it is close to sealing an order from Iran for jack-up rigs. The Korean yard will shortly announce the final details for five jack-ups from Iran’s state run national oil firm, worth a total of $1.14bn. DSME fought off competition for the prized order from many other yards, including compatriot Samsung Heavy Industries.

Iranian shipping companies are also expected to announce a slew of orders at Korean yards soon.
