DSME secures orders for VLCC pair

South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering has secured a deal for the construction of two VLCC tankers from an unidentified owner in North America.

The delivery of the vessels is scheduled in the first quarter of 2020.

DSME has received orders of 19 vessels worth $2.36bn so far this year, including 10 VLCCs.

Last week, the shipbuilder was awarded an order by Alpha Gas for the construction of two 173,400 cu m LNG Carriers.
