Dubai authorities discuss upping marine standards

Dubai: The Dubai Maritime City Authority ( DMCA ) has held a joint meeting with the National Transport Authority (NTA) to reveal a new initiative aimed at enhancing existing services provided to shipowners in Dubai. The meeting, which was held at the DMCA headquarters in the presence of owners of commercial vessels and their representatives, discussed current challenges and the best ways to improve marine inspection services.

Amer Ali, Executive Director, Dubai Maritime City Authority, said: "We are highly committed to promoting cooperation with our strategic partners from government and stakeholders of the Dubai maritime sector. Together, we can achieve our shared aspirations of boosting Dubai's competitiveness at the regional and international levels and positioning Dubai among the world's leading developed maritime centers."  [23/06/14]
