Dung Quat set for new port

Hanoi: With the refinery growing at its heart, Dung Quat Economic Zone (DEZ) is looking to build a second port as well as a shipyard to carry out both repair work and shipbuilding. The port will be able to handle VLCCs and up to 37m tonnes a year by 2025 and when fully complete in 2030 up to 100m tonnes. 
Dung Quat’s $3bn refinery has become one of the most important sources of energy in the country and plans are afoot to expand it by 40% so that it can handle 9m tonnes a year.  [01/12/14]
