Dynagas inks leasing deal for LNG-FSRU pair with CSSC Shipping

Greek LNG specialist owner Dynagas has signed a financial leasing agreement with CSSC Shipping, the leasing unit of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, for two 174,000 cu m LNG FSRUs.

The two LNG FSRUs will be built by CSSC-affiliated Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding, and are expected to be delivered in 2019 and 2020.

The deal also marks CSSC’s entry into the FSRU construction sector, which has been dominated by South Korean yards. So far, Wison is the only Chinese builder tohave built an FSRU which is set to deliver to Exmar in December this year.

Currently Dynagas runs a fleet of 11 LNG carriers and has another four 172,410 cu m LNG carriers under construction at South Korean yard Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering.
