Eagle Bulk moves to acquire six ultramaxes

Nasdaq-listed dry bulk owner Eagle Bulk Shipping is looking to raise $100m via a notes issue with funds to be used to acquire six ultramax bulkers.

The company revealed that a deal to buy the six vessels is all but done, but did not reveal any other details.

According to broking sources the seller is Wilbur Ross-linked company Nautical Bulk Holdings.

Eagle Bulk currently has a fleet of 45 bulkers, made up of 14 ultramaxes and 31 supramaxes.
