Eastern Pacific inks two at Hyundai Mipo

Singapore: South Korea’s Hyundai Mipo Dockyard has revealed it has won a $102m order from a Singaporean company to build two LPG carriers.

Hyundai Mipo, a subsidiary of Hyundai Heavy Industries C, said it will start building the vessels from March 2016 and deliver them to Eastern Pacific the following year.

Eastern Pacific, backed by Idan Ofer, has shot up the ranks in terms of owned tonnage in the past year, ranking within the top 50 worldwide according to a new poll compiled by Maritime CEO and VesselsValue.com.  [27/05/14]
