Dalian: EFC Group, a designer and manufacturer of controls, instrumentation, monitoring and handling systems for the oil and gas drilling industry, has been awarded a $2.2m BOP control system contract for the Chinese shipyard Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Offshore Co (DSIC Offshore).
The system is to be installed onboard DSIC Offshore’s newbuild jack-up rig JU2000E-13, which will be delivered to drilling contractor Apexindo when completed.
“EFC aims for this to be the start of a strong relationship with DSIC. In the newbuild market as a whole, we know there is a high demand on shipyards and their current vendors to delivery on time and on budget and we have invested in our facilities and resources to support this,” said Bob Will, chief executive of EFC Group.
