Egypt hands out energy contracts

Cairo: Egypt signed nine crude oil and natural gas exploration agreements on Friday, the first time the nation has handed out energy contracts in three years.

The contract winners, which include Royal Dutch Shell, agreed to drill 15 wells in the Gulf of Suez, the Sinai and the eastern and western deserts.  [03/11/13]
