Egypt positions itself as Mid East-Africa pivot

Amman: Dr. Hatem Abdel Latif, Minister of Transport, said during the conclusion of the activities of the fiftieth session of the Arab Transport Ministers on Friday that four shipping lines were set to connect ports in Egypt, and Arab ports, which will see Egypt act as  a pivot for routes connecting the Middle East with the African continent. Latif said also that Arab ministers had discussed a regional tracking system for all commercial vessels passing through the region with three centres – in Egypt, Algeria and Bahrain – keeping tabs on all ships.  [16/06/13]
