Eni and Sonatrach fix gas supply deal

Italian oil company Eni and Algeria’s Sonatrach have reached an agreement covering almost 20% of Italy’s gas imports for the 2016-207 thermal year.

Eni’s CEO Claudio Descalzi said: “I am particularly pleased with the closing of the renegotiation on gas supply contract and the level of the strategic partnership with Sonatrach, which also involves the exploration and production sector and the recent new agreement on renewables”.

Eni has been working in Algeria since 1981 and the equity production in the North African country is more than 100,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
