Eni wins Montenegro exploration licenses

Italy’s Eni has won a concession contract with the Montenegro government for the exploration of four offshore blocks covering 1,228 sq km.

End has been assigned the role of operator with a 50% of interest in the 4118-4, 4118-5, 4118-9 and 4118-10 exploration licenses, partnering Russian firm OAO Novatek.

In a release Eni said that the entry into Montenegro is part of the company’s strategy aimed at strengthening its exploration portfolio in the area.
