Esvagt appoints new CEO

Danish offshore wind support specialist Esvagt has appointed Peter Lytzen as its new CEO effective September 1.

Lytzen’s career includes over 15 years with Maersk and more recently almost 10 years with Teekay. He replaces Kristian Ole Jakobsen, the company’s COO who has been serving as interim CEO since December 2017 when Søren Nørgaard Thomsen left the role.

Jakob Thomasen, chairman of Esvagt, commented “We are pleased to welcome Peter to the Esvagt team. His background as a leader within the offshore and shipping industry combined with his relevant equity markets experience makes Peter the right person to drive continued innovation and ensure that Esvagt continually offers its customers improved safety and efficiency whilst focusing on costs. I would like to take the opportunity to thank our interim CEO, Kristian Ole Jakobsen, for his contribution over the last nine months. Kristian will continue to play an integral role as Deputy CEO of Esvagt.”

Thomasen was appointed in May and is also ex-Maersk, having served over 28 years of which seven were as CEO of Maersk Oil.

Esvagt was part of Maersk Group until it was sold in 2015.
