Evaland expands into LPG

Evalend Shipping is expanding into a new sector, following other Greeks of late into LPG. With Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea for two 38,000 cu m LPG carriers for delivery from the fourth quarter of 2017. The contract comes with options for two more vessels. The ships are estimated to cost in excess of $50m each.

Hyundai Mipo has done well out of Greek owners latterly turning to LPG – Phoenix Energy Navigation being the other most recent Greek owner to plump for two ships of the same size as Evaland.

Sam Chambers

Starting out with the Informa Group in 2000 in Hong Kong, Sam Chambers became editor of Maritime Asia magazine as well as East Asia Editor for the world’s oldest newspaper, Lloyd’s List.
