Evalend secures Hanjin tanker quartet

In a busy final few days of the year Kriton Lentoudis’s Evalend Shipping has finally nailed down the sale of a quartet of Hanjin chemical tankers. The four sister ships – Strilen, Royal Natura, Royal Flos and Ema Querida – have been snapped up at $13.1m per unit in what brokers describe as a bank driven sale. The coated 19,996 dwt ships were all built at Sekwang Heavy in South Korea in 2008. Evalend has been linked with this quartet for the past six weeks, but it is only now that brokers are saying it is a done deal.

Nine days ago Splash reported Evalend had paid $61.5m for a trio of kamsarmax bulker resales due for delivery from China’s Jiangsu New Yangzijiang Shipbuilding next month.
