Taipei: Africa is deemed by many to be the next exciting frontier for container shipping and it is one where Taiwan’s top boxline is upping its exposure. Trade between Asia and Africa is growing at record levels in the past few years. Evergreen Marine starts from today to deploy a pair of 4,200 teu ships from Asia to Africa. Evergreen is adding the ships to the existing Asia-South Africa service operated by K Line, MOL and PIL. Another two ships of a similar size will shortly be deployed on a Far East – Africa Express, which Evergreen has been operating with Cosco. [01/10/14]
